What Matters? Competition for Yr 5-12 students

Each year the Whitlam Institute at the University of Western Sydney asks students in years 5 - 12 in NSW and the ACT to share their thoughts on what matters to them in 400 - 600 words. They write to us of their passions and interests, their dreams, their fears, their experiences of family, friendship and the world around them. Their words are insightful, inspirational, often funny, and always heartfelt.

More and more young people each year are keen to participate, and in 2009 the What Matters? Competition, proudly sponsored by Officeworks, received a record 1114 entries from young people in some 145 schools. ACTNow continues to support the competition by offering the Year 11/12 category winner the opportunity to participate in their Cash for Comments program.

Entries close on April 30.
