WELCOME TO RADFORD COLLEGE

I am delighted to welcome everyone back to the new academic year. I trust that you and your family enjoyed a terrific Christmas and New Year holiday season and that you are all feeling refreshed and eager to commence the year.

A new year provides the opportunity to review the achievements of the past and to consider plans for the future.  The outstanding achievements, academic and other, of Radford students in 2009, are a source of great pleasure and pride to me and our community. More than half the 2009 Y12 cohort achieved an ATAR of 87 or greater, which is a marvellous result, given that Radford is a non-selective school.  In 2009, Radford students raised well over $50,000 for local, national and international programs, as well as giving many hours of service to the community in a wide range of programs, and developing a Sustainability Charter for presentation to the College Board. The cocurricular programs, including Music, Drama, and Sport, enrich the lives of our students, and have resulted in some wonderful team and individual achievements.

In 2010, the College is engaged in preparing a new Strategic Plan, to help direct our efforts in the future, as in the past, towards the fulfilment of the College motto: Truth, Compassion, Wisdom. 
I welcome the contributions of the community to the strategic planning process.

I hope that everyone in the community will face 2010 with a real sense of expectation and optimism, and with a thankful heart for the boundless opportunities that a new year offers.
